The term hopeless romantic makes about as much sense to me as the phrase guilty pleasure. If you're a romantic then you're far from hopeless. And if you get off on something, f**k those who don't and judge you because you do. OK? OK. That being said, Hopeless Romantic's vocal chanteuse Sage Melcher was particularly romantic and pleasurable. Her voice is a 24-hour lullaby. I love it. She sang sweet beneath a summery lid and the sound of her electric guitar, brandishing it more like an acoustic. The music was original and folky, kinda like a jazzy Joni Mitchell. She paused now and again to let her band get their swerve on, but that lost momentum quickly, I just wanted to hear her sing in that beautiful contralto of hers. I still do.
