The authors retell the story of the Manson Family, a desert commune and cult active in California in the late 1960s and early 70s led by Charles Manson. The Smiths take a unique approach to analyzing how Charles Manson used the lyrics of the Beatles and the verses of the Bible to weave a philosophical tapestry which managed to manipulate his family of believers into thinking their crimes were part of God’s work to initiate the course of racial and social upheaval that he called “Helter Skelter.” Copies of the book will be available for sale ($19.95 - paperback) and autographing.
