Join us for an author talk with Oren Kessler, and a look at his book "Palestine 1936: the Great Revolt and the Roots of the Middle East Conflict." This story tells of two national movements and the first sustained confrontation between them in 1936. The rebellion was Arab, but the Zionist counter-rebellion—the Jews’ military, economic, and psychological transformation—is a vital, overlooked element in the chronicle of how Palestine became Israel. Kessler tells this story from all three sides (British, Arab, Jewish) to provide an even-handed narrative. Click here for more information: https://calendar.libraryweb.org/event/11811019
