Navigators from the Literacy Volunteers of Rochester provide free on-site, drop-in service to participants who require assistance with technology. Navigators assist participants with a range of needs from learning a new computer skill to completing an important computer related task such as creating a resume or cover letter, completing a job application or filling out online forms. No registration. First come first serve. Call ahead to ensure the volunteer will be available at 585-223-9091.

Learning Links: English as a Second Language

Free English as a New Language tutoring.  Build your skills in speaking, vocabulary, reading, and writing in friendly, one-on-one or small group sessions.  Materials are provided. Children can attend a story hour at the library at the same time.  Presented by Learning Links of Fairport.  Limited to 15 participants. Learning Links: Citizenship Classes

Free class to prepare adults for the United States Citizenship Test. Instruction is given in U.S. history, reading, writing, and vocabulary needed to pass the test. Materials are provided. Fairport Village Ghost Walk

Longtime Fairport resident Ron Roberts will lead a free Ghost Walk in the Village, sharing stories about haunted houses and businesses. Each walk will last about one hour and will be held rain or shine. Cash donations for the Perinton Food Shelf will be accepted. Limited to 30 participants. *All participants will receive an audio device, please check in at the Information Desk 15 minutes prior to the walk. Protecting Your Retirement Nest Egg in a Turbulent and Changing Market

In this seminar, I focus on identifying risk in your retirement portfolio, especially for those at or near retirement. I also cover the simple changes in strategy you can implement to mitigate your exposure to risk. All attendees receive a Risk Assessment Guide to use with their own investments, helping you identify your personal risk tolerance, the level of risk in your investments and ways to reallocate to more conservative investments. AARP Driver Safety Course

A two part classroom driver refresher course designed for drivers aged 50 and over. Cost is $20 for AARP members and $25 for non members, payable at the first class (only checks accepted). Must have a valid New York state license.
