100th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide

The Armenian Genocide was the annihilation of 1.5 million Armenians by the “Young Turk” government of Ottoman Turkey from 1915 to 1923. Pope Francis this month described the slaughter of Armenians by the Ottoman Turks as “the first genocide of the 20th century.” The keynote speaker of the Rochester event will be Vincent Lima of Pittsford. Mr. Lima lived in Yerevan, Armenia, for four years, where he edited The Armenian Reporter newspaper.
