THEATER | 'Little Miss Sunshine'

by

Michael Arndt's 2006 Academy Award-winning, quirky comedy film "Little Miss Sunshine" had audiences rooting for the unflappable, precocious Olive, played by the Abigail Breslin. The story follows a family that, despite its dysfunctions, takes a cross-country trip in support of the young girl's ambition to win a beauty pageant. The screenplay was adapted into a stage musical, with music and lyrics by Tony-winner William Finn, and premiered Off-Broadway in 2013.

Theatre 444 will stage a short run of "Little Miss Sunshine," directed by Pam Rapoza and with musical direction by Annie Bachman, at Cobblestone Arts Center, 1622 New York 332, Farmington. Thursday, November 2, through Saturday, November 4, at 8 p.m.; and Sunday, November 5, at 2 p.m. $15. 389-0220; theatre444.com.
